SPIDIA Training Course – July 18-20, 2012 – “Practical Introduction to Metabolomics”

Dear all,

CERM (Magnetic Resonance Center of University of Florence)
proudly presents and welcomes you to the SPIDIA training course “Practical Introduction to Metabolomics”.
This event will be held in Sesto Fiorentino, near the beautiful city of Florence, Italy.

The course is in the frame of the educational activities of the EU funded project SPIDIA (Standardisation and improvement of generic pre-analytical tools and procedures for in-vitro diagnostics, http://www.spidia.eu/), and it is particularly suited to students and young researcher interested in the field of metabolomics.

The programme will consist of 4 lectures and 2 training activities.
The first part will be focused on the comparative use of NMR and Mass Spectrometry in metabolomics studies, and the second part on the standardization of experimental data and metabolic pathways and biomarkers discovery. The practical activities provide an opportunity to learn the applications of the tools and technologies being discussed throughout the lectures.

The event will be staged at CERM, a center for research, knowledge transfer, and higher education of the University of Florence, that feature a collection of NMR instruments that is among the most advanced in the world.
