We are seeking candidates for a 3-year post-doctoral position available at the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences (DNISC) and the Institute for Advanced Biomedical Technologies (ITAB), University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy.
The project concerns the development of MRI at 3T and data analysis methods to quantify human brain structure and function.
We will develop methods to map human brain oxygen consumption, as a marker of energy consumption, and relate this to brain network organisation and brain plasticity in health and disease. The project is funded by a PNRR Innovation Ecosystem grant. The research will be carried out on a newly-installed research-dedicated Siemens Prisma MRI system and will involve optimising MRI data acquisition, applying the techniques in human participants and developing analysis approaches to extract physiological information from MRI data. Knowledge of MRI methods and scientific programming would be a significant advantage. The position would suit a researcher with a physics/engineering background interested in applied imaging research or a psychology/clinical imaging researcher with experience of MRI and data analysis.
The closing date for applications is 27 October 2022.
